About Kristi Sutterfield

Kristi Sutterfield serves as Education Director and Conference Consultant for the Texas Affiliation of Affordable Housing Providers, a nonprofit statewide association whose members specialize in multifamily tax credit and market rate development. In this capacity, Kristi Sutterfield organizes the education sessions for the annual Texas Housing Conference in Austin. She has been marketing the conference since 2008, coordinating with major partners and keynote speakers while working to maximize attendance. The 2011 Texas Housing Conference was the largest yet, with 600 attendees whose contributions to affordable quality housing for underserved families reached an all-time high. Kristi Sutterfield was part of the team that organized the event. Over the last three decades, Kristi Sutterfield has held numerous positions and worked with various realtors, regulatory agencies, remodelers, builders, and other public and private companies. Before becoming an independent consultant, Kristi Sutterfield was a Partner at Pat Watson & Associates, Inc., and a Manager at Red Carpet Real Estate from 1980 to 1988. She has also taught as a Real Estate Instructor at the University of North Texas and the Northlake campus of the Dallas County Community College District from 1982 to 1991. From 1988 to 1992, she served as a workout specialist, handling out-of-court debt restructuring. She spent eight years as the Marketing Director and Project Developer for Bon Terre Residential, a division of Hunt Oil Company, followed by several years as the Executive Officer and Government Affairs Director for the Greater Fort Worth Builders Association. From 2002 to 2008, she held the position of Executive Director of the Texas Association of Builders.
